Traveling Companions

This is a WORK IN PROGRESS. I can not update this page entirely on my own, if there are segments missing, anons who don’t have history or anything that needs to be added or removed. Throughout the stories, the author and the threads garnered many companions. Some of these stayed until the end and others were only with us for a short period of time. Some remained anonymous and some ruled tripcodes like nobody else.
Here’s a rough history for the ones we’ve known.

 

Inflationbro

Stalked r9k for months, getting first post in nearly 20+ threads (and almost first in many others), consistently posting his entertaining inflation fetish gifs of a girl in glasses. Needless to say he was a serious glasses fan and even if she is the best girl that doesn’t explain how you got first post before i even linked the thread anywhere EVERY TIME.

He ranked the girls nightly. Often having them rise or fall multiple tiers depending on how they acted that update. They were a long time staple in the threads, and you can read them in any of the archived road-trip threads usually.

A seperate poster than Glasses is Love, posted quite consistently and was a common participant in the threads, confusing the hell out of everyone because at one point they both shared the same tripcode.

A femanon that was a frequent anonymous poster on the threads. Easily noticed because of her love of reimu images and her messages encouraging everyone to get along, and calling various anons “My child”

A wrestling fan gone full storybro. This anon consistently showed up in threads and posted wrestling reaction gifs and images for nearly everything entertaining that went down. He was awesome. Consistently there, even when threads got tough.

 

If he ever reads this, i found these on another thread and saved them thinkin bout him – Storybro.

 

 

 

 

 

Geoff

<Probably deserves hisown page>
Not actually a thread poster. This anon was the actual editorbro for the storybro road-trip document. He had full edit privileges and was known to chat with viewers directly on the document. Leave secret messages in all-white text and generally devote his free time to reading and fixing spoiler tags that storybro constantly screwed up.

 

 

+ Many more that will remain anonymous / didn’t have easily identifiable posting patterns. We had hundreds of anons who never picked up a tripcode once, but were still frequent posters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Throughout the story there have also been honorable mentions for anons that continually tried to disrupt the threads, shitpost the anons into oblivion, start arguments, or generally try their hardest to do the 4chan thing
Which is, quite simply “STOP LIKING WHAT I DON’T LIKE”

 

 

Beetlebro / DoublespaceBro

Took it upon himself to beetlepost various threads into submission. Spamming beetle after beetle and telling us various descriptions of the beetles and specific scientific names for each. He had to do this because r9k’s bot was still in effect at the time, and consecutive non unique posts would get him banned. He ended up banned for it anyway.

Although difficult to connect at first, analysis of previous postings confirm this is the same anon who posts this image as often as he can. Who would be the anon we dubbed “Doublespacebro“, not realizing the relation.

This anon, unbeknownst to himself consistently posted with a dead-giveaway as to his identity, even while posting as if he was different people each and every time. His royal failure of samefagging was so bad that thread anons titled him “Doublespacebro” and loving called out his /b/ tier “Hey guys i’m posting and my ID is still on!” mistake every time as double spacing. He occasionally still joins the threads and gets called out as “DSbro” or “DoublespaceBro”. Posting these images to harass him.

He gets REALLY mad, and can’t figure out how everyone can tell it’s him, even though they consistently do.

 

He has various reposted bait across threads, pretending to be multiple and varied anons even though his telltale spacing doesn’t vanish. Ranging from claims that storybro is secretly rich and fucking with people,  to starting a rumor in skype chat (storybro general) when he was doxxed that he “Faked it” for attention, sympathy and donations. Ignoring the fact that donations were not open at the time and  storybro entirely stopped talking to anyone for a good two weeks after the hacking event, reacting negatively to sympathy for reasons now confirmed to be explained in story #3. He continues to claim that it was proven storybro faked being doxxed. Even though sleuthing confirms he started the lie in the first place. He also took his time to claim storybro was taking donations under false pretenses, that storybro is actually the only one who posts in the thread and drops his trip to pretend to be everyone else, and various absolutely ridiculous attempts at baiting and causing problems in thread.

Storybro has humorously dealt with him by informing anons that he’s just secretly dropping his trip and pretending to hate himself to garner sympathy for the story every time he posts.

Storybro has noted that via post content, this is likely one of the members of his previous skype group with a vendetta against him. He thinks it’s cute.

Then there are true destructive forces, villains that nearly ended the threads entirely.

Frogbro

-Initially called “Capbro” because of his frequent use of all-caps in many of his posts complaining about the stories.
This from what we could tell was a clinically depressed true r9k denizen who accidentally started reading the storybro stories. We say accidentally because he was quite frankly forcing himself to read the story and in an agonizing state of self-depreciation and self-loathing over it. He posted frequently with various Frog images thus the name.

Even without the images however, he followed  a very strict posting routine. Throughout nearly 40 updates he would arrive in thread complaining about how he never personally had any “Magical Adventures” and would never have lewd sexytimes with teenage females. This started out routine enough, anons responded kindly only looking to help him out. They offered advice, gave him strategies for improving his life and getting female companionship and for a while it seemed frogbro was improving. He seemed happier, more in touch with himself and the constant confidence boosts and positive attention he was garnering in threads seemed to really be turning his life around. This suddenly stopped one day, and instead of attempting to solve his problems he resorted to blaming Storybro. Soul crushing, depressing, self loathing and absolutely baitworthy posts stemmed from this fellow. He claimed storybro was only here to brag, ruining all of r9k with his stories and destroying the only safe heaven frogbro had from hearing people boast about sexual exploits.

The problem was that it was such a depressing story, time and time again, that we couldn’t help but respond. And respond we did, time, and time, and time, and time and time again. Frogbro seemingly effortlessly joined a thread, told his sob story, blamed storybro and brought the thread to bickering and complaining instead of discussing story content. He posted threads on the same board, or outside boards encouraging people to join and shitpost in storybro threads. He lurked every day at 8:00 PST to complain about storybro threads, and oftentimes made precursor threads complaining about the “Soon to be” storybro updates. This Anon spent upwards of 100+ hours griefing the story threads and eventually the harassment became so bad threads were -remade so that shitposters had threads to themselves to depreciate quality in.

Because it was perceived the harassment was only occurring because anons were giving frogbro attention, quickly they developed rules to prevent this. “Do not respond to frogposters!” was one slogan. Another was to simply quote frogbro and tell him everything he had just said was 100% true. Both of these worked to mixed results.

 

Some comical rumors were created about frogbro being the canon “Other boy” at the beginning of the sleepover story, and refusing to join in on the sleepover because he wanted to get home for dinner. Therefore making him the comic book antithesis for storybro. The male who gave up his spot and enabled storybro to have his adventures in the first place. This was the image photoshopped to represent him as a “Black” version of storybro.

The greentext parodies the starting of the sleepover story, and many of the common phrases frogbro constantly used.

 

 

Corrupted Frogbro

This anon posted with frogs as well, but was not frogbro as evident by his typing style. He posted with increasingly more corrupted and distorted frog images in the three threads he appeared in. Slowly posting intimate personal details about storybro’s life, the ending to his stories and claiming storybro was personally involved in shooting up a school and murdering one of his friends. He ended two threads by himself with his antics. Mostly by either discussing/threatening storybro via skype, or causing so much distraught drama that the thread had to be ended.
